10 High-Style Sofas That Won’t Break the Bank

A sofa is one of the most important pieces in any space but most of us  don’t want to spend $10,000 to get a great look, quality and style.  These are just a few of the sofas I love that speak volumes and won’t a home equity loan.  Customize the fabrics, the pillows and often the leg finish to reflect your personal style.

Room Design: Orange you Golden!

Room Design Orange:  I love layering shades of orange, terra cotta and cinnamon with metallic gold tones, tans and browns.  The end result is a really warm inviting space but the metallic accents turn up the notch a bit.   I lean toward more modern lines but I like a nice blend of straight simple lines with curvilinear forms.  Too much of a good thing is always too much of a good thing so contrast is key in keeping a space interesting.

Products below can be purchased from my online store at Project Decor or contact me directly at jkern@designtheoryinteriors.com.

Vintage Mannequin Heads

Vintage mannequin heads are the best accessories!   They’re a mischievous, unexpected and actually very artistic.   And like us, each mannequin head has its own unique personality.  These are a few you’ll find peppering my own home:

This glamour gal is hand painted and she does actually have painted hair but she wears this vintage hat so beautifully I couldn’t deny her.

These two I found recently at Paris on Ponce in Atlanta and couldn’t pass them up.  They’re beautifully painted and they have long Kardashian eyelashes and holes in their ears for earrings.   These are the naughty girls;  beautiful and seductive with flashy makeup and sizzling red lips.

I found the triplets at Machine Age Modern in Toronto’s Leslieville neighborhood.  These deco style heads were displays once used at the famous Holt Renfrew department store chain.  I’m not sure their original color but someone in their history painted them metallic gold and I love them just the way they are!
