The New Look of Tiles
If you’re in the market for tile, the world is quite literally your oyster these days. While I still love a beveled subway tile and a marble basket weave, sometimes a girl likes a little bling and manufacturers are meeting that need with tiles that can quite literally stand alone as artwork. Whether you like a 3-d texture, an oversized graphic or modern shapes, there is a tile solution for every palette.
Modcraft Modern Handmade Ceramics offers the Modcraft Valley 6″x6″ dimensional tile that is raised in the center and slops on each side. This particular shade is quite dramatic.
I love the same tile in the white finish as well. Keeps a space simple and clean but adds some really interesting movement.
Modcraft also offers some really interesting shapes like this 4″x12″ interlocking tile. This has some really cool installation options. The tile can be run in one direction or in oppposite directions and it can be installed vertically or horizontally. So much fun!
This is one of my favorite products for floors or walls. This is from the Uonuon collection by 14oraitaliana, called The Warhol Pop Wood. it’s a really bold and modern take on the faux bois porcelain tile.
These are so many glaze, finish and color options with the 14oritaliana Uonuon tiles that it can go from bold and playful to sleek conteporary.
Also by 14oritaliana is this stunning pattern from the iGattipardi collection. This pattern is a modern interpretation of the graphic designs of the grand Italian palaces. Also part of the Eco Vision collection.
The Chevron stripe is still alive and well and Modwalls is offering ceramic mosaic tiles with the option to mix and match some eye-popping colors so you can customize to your own color palette.
Also by Modwalls, this is called the Rox Lunar and it’s interesting because it’s a ceramic tile but it’s face mounted with plastic and it can be used indoors or outdoors, dry areas or wet areas. This is a really fun mid-century shape that could be ramped up with contrasting or colored grouts
SO elegant! But what would you expect from Walker Zanger? These are actually stone tiles a with large repeat and a metallic finish. This pattern is called Circolo from the Tracciato collection.
This is another pattern from the Tracciato collection by Walker Zanger. Each tile is 24″x24″
Above and Below are two patterns from the Studio Moderne collection offered by Walker Zanger. These are large patterns with 15″-20″ repeats so really best for larger wall areas versus an under-cabinet backsplash.
